ABOUT OUR DAY
Growing up in harmony with nature
We understand that routine is important to children and although we have set times and activities throughout each day we also take advantage of the changing seasons and the new and spontaneous opportunities for exploration they offer. Whilst a hot lunch indoors may be welcome in the winter, an outdoor picnic is much more fun on a warm summer’s afternoon. Winter snow, fallen leaves, April puddles and yes even a bit of mud offer flexible learning opportunities to the daily routine, don’t worry we do promise to send the children home in a clean and tidy condition.

DROP OFF
A busy time with everyone arriving close together, our teams are experienced in settling children quickly into nursery and this is an important opportunity for you to tell us how your child is feeling, are they are happy or are they sad, tired or maybe upset for some reason? We are more than willing to contact you during the day with honest feedback on how your child is doing.
MORNING ACTIVITIES
What better way to start the day than a little energetic fun and a visit to the huge indoor soft and sensory play area, or any of the outdoor activities in Hatton Adventure World, we pretty much have the place to ourselves early mornings. A bit of gardening or tending to our vegetable patch and a return to nursery before lunch for a drink, healthy snack, and a combination of free play and adult lead activities.

LUNCHTIME
Lunch is served at midday, we place great emphasis on eating together like a family, we talk about our day and make it an enjoyable and sociable time.

AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES
Outdoors as soon as possible for some fresh air, play and exploration. Perhaps a visit to the chickens, guinea pigs or the owls and falcons before return to nursery for a drink, healthy snack and more free play and adult lead activities.

TEA TIME
At about 4pm the children sit down together for tea, a little lighter than lunch, it’s a chance to unwind in preparation for home time.
HOME TIME
Our nursery staff will make a point of sharing information with you about your child’s day
